The question

Chemical plant maintenance workers run the risk of exposure to high pressure/temperature product left in the pipes accidentally. Especially at the “first-line-break” moment while they manually unbolt and open flanges.

Our answer

We created a semi-autonomous bi-directional flange clamp and spreader that is operated at a distance, so that the worker is taken out of the line of fire. Additionally, an autonomous safety system will detect leaks as they happen and reacty quickly to close the flange with the clamp
