The question

Maintenance is a crucial factor in the life-critical domain of aviation. Blades must be restored at highly precise angles, often using a long file which is passed numerous times over the surface by a trained employee. This heavy, physically demanding work is not always comfortable, and is suffering from a growing labor shortage.

Our answer

To increase efficiency and reduce physical load, we introduced two fan blade blending systems which support the maintenance tools and enhance the movements of the technicians. Our design utilizes pneumatic belt grinders as opposed to the manual blending with a hand file.

“Let the tools do the heavy lifting. We achieve precision without the pain.”
